Trust Chairman’s New Year Message

As we come to the end of 2012, it is worth taking time to reflect on a momentous year in the history of Wycombe Wanderers.

After several months of difficult negotiations the Trust managed to gain ownership of the football club, Adams Park and the training ground on what we believe to be advantageous terms. Since then we have been on a rollercoaster both on and off the pitch, which has necessitated some difficult decisions, but I believe we are making progress in both areas.

On the pitch, after a dismal start, the change of manager has re-invigorated performances, and when we have a full squad available, I believe we are match for any team in the division. When we don’t have a full squad, such as on Saturday, we now have the spirit to grind out a result.

Off the pitch we are still trying to stabilise the finances of the Club. This is proving difficult, with lower than expected attendances, and a reluctance from financial institutions to get involved with football clubs, however we are confident the position will be much improved by the end of January.

So looking forward to 2013, I would ask you to continue to support the football club by attending as many matches as possible, as well as encouraging as many new or lapsed fans to sample the Adams Park experience. If you have any influence in the selection of locations for meetings or functions, please contact the club for a quote.

We have come a long way in the six months since we took control, and we still have a long way to go, but I am confident that with your support we can rebuild a stable, friendly and successful football club.

I wish you and your families a very happy new year, and look forward to continuing our journey together through 2013.

Trevor Stroud
