Could you be a Wycombe Wanderers Womble?

I know it’s a strange heading, but please bear with me… WWFC has asked the Trust Board to make this special request for groups of regular volunteers who would be interested in litter-picking at the stadium, so this is basically a shout out for potential Wycombe Wanderers Wombles!

The Club is looking for three teams of four volunteers. These teams would work on a rota system after matchdays, meaning each team would only have to cover one in three shifts. The shift is likely to be three hours long. The idea is that these three teams will be consistent throughout the season, so the volunteers will need to be able to commit to the regularity of the job.

Because the litter picking isn’t a one-off event and those involved will have to make a commitment to the Club, there will be a very special reward in gratitude to the volunteers involved:

In return for your litter picking commitment, you will receive – free of charge – one matchday experience in the Ignite Dressing Room!

For those of you not yet aware of WWFC’s “Third Changing Room“,  the area (formerly the Legends Lounge) has been converted into a stylish new hospitality suite which overlooks the tunnel courtesy of a one-way window. You and your volunteer team will be able to watch the teams line up before walking onto the pitch ahead of kick-off (and watch them leaving after the game). The Third Changing Room is also visited by members of the playing squad.

This really is a very special gesture from the Club and one that I’m sure we would all love to experience. But first comes the wombling…

If you can commit to litter picking volunteering on a regular basis, please drop me a line to confirm. The current thinking is that Sundays would be convenient for most people, as many have work/education on weekdays. If however it transpires that the majority can only do weekdays, we will arrange the teams for the Monday after matchday instead.

Please email me – [email protected] – to register your interest, working on the assumption that the job will be carried out on the day after the match (Sundays).

If you would like to join in but could only manage Mondays, not Sundays, please make this clear in your email.

Please remember that we are looking for regular teams. While we would always appreciate your help regardless of frequency, the Ignite Dressing Room experience can only be offered to those who can commit to working every third shift.

Many thanks for all your volunteering efforts, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Kindest regards
