Trevor Cox – R.I.P

We were saddened to learn the news that Trevor Cox passed away on the 4th January having fought a battle with cancer.

‘Trev’ passed away at home in Widmer End, with his family around him and our thoughts and sincere condolences go out to his widow Jacky and their sons Russell and Duncan.

Trevor had been a Wycombe Wanderers fan since 1991 with his first game being the FA Trophy Final v Kidderminster. He then started to go to pre-season friendlies that summer and was ‘hooked’. His two suns Russell and Duncan are both lifelong supporters and his wife Jacqueline also loves to come to Adams Park where they watch games from the Frank Adams Stand. His favourite ever game was the FA Cup win over Wimbledon at Selhurst Park and favourite all-time player was Nathan Tyson who the family liked so much that they became his kit sponsor.

Trevor had been a Trust Member since the first Supporters Trust was formed and was one of the Chairboys Funders who lent the club money when it was so desperately needed, as well as being one its company directors. He also was a long time member of the WW Independent Supporters Club and later joined their committee, helping with coaches, matchday parking and fanzine sales.

Trev has been described as a “well-loved and popular fan who was always sharing stories of his many holidays. Matchdays will never be quite the same”

In July 2021, Trevor became only the 4th winner in the Quarters Ball Club Draw and, whilst undergoing treatment for his condition, welcomed the good news of his £608 cash prize as “just what I needed – a nice surprise”

Trev’s funeral will take place on Tuesday 25th January and those who knew him are welcome at the Milton Chapel, Chilterns Crematorium HP7 0ND at 2:30 pm followed by a reception at The Hit or Miss in Penn Street HP7 0FA from 3.15pm
