Report from the Womens First Team match

Wycombe Wanderers Women are currently hosting two college students on work experience. As well as observing and taking part in training sessions, they have been doing off field work to include match reports and previews. The below match report from Wycombe Wanderers Firsts v Winchester Flyers (27.02.23) and is written by Steen Alden.

The Chairgirls came out victorious in a eventually comfortable 3-0 win on the weekend with goals from Freya Harris, Sophie Attfield & Esmee Sword.

The home team took an early lead heading into the game following a few fortunate bounces and persistent pressing from Freya Harris . A tough fought next 35 minutes, with the game being a cagey affair, meant the WWFC Women went into the break with the lead.

Coming out into the second half, the home team found their rhythm once again with some great flowing possession football and eventually showed some ruthlessness converting 2 of many chances. The first through a composed finish from Sophie Attfield and the third and final goal from a brilliant corner routine finished off stylishly from Esmee Sword to round of a comfortable FIRST home win!
