Florence Rowe – R.I.P

We were saddened to learn of the death this week of long time Trust Member and season ticket holder, Florence Rowe who passed away suddenly on Tuesday 18th July, just one month before her 93rd birthday.

Our sincere condolences go out to her family, especially daughter Lesley and son-in-law Russell, who is himself also a long time season ticket holder.

Russell tells us that Florence used to follow the club both home and away, often travelling on her own on the coach if none of her family were able to go with her. Trips to Portsmouth, Oxford and Wembley (twice) were special memories for her. No matter what the weather, she loved ‘her Wycombe’.

Florence was possibly the club’s oldest mascot when allowed that honour in 2010 as she reached the age of 80. She had a TV clip made about her on Soccer AM in 2014 and she was also seen on Soccer Saturday in 2016 as you can view here

Florence also was able to carry the Olympic torch in London in 2012 from 10 Downing Street, past the Cenotaph, which was a tremendous honour for her.

The family have asked for a scoreboard tribute which hopefully will be done at half time in a game when her family can be present.

Funeral details are not yet available.
