We are sad to learn of the death of long time supporter Arthur Kenneth Church who was a founder member and shareholder of the Wycombe Wanderers Trust.
Ken, as he was best known, passed away at his home in Sleaford, Lincolnshire on 27th July 2023, aged 87.
He was the son of former Bucks Free Press editor and ex-club Vice President, Arthur Church.
Ken’s son David tells us that “Dad was a lifelong supporter of the club, having watched his first Wycombe game on 1947, aged 11, and then becoming a season ticket holder for the next 70 years – even after he retired from the town to Lincolnshire in 2002 – attending regularly with his family until just a few seasons ago.”
When the Trust launched its Community Share Scheme in 2014 to provide much needed working capital, Ken was one of the first to commit and he ended up subscribing for shares on an annual basis until 2019.
