Trust and Club commit to launch a disabled supporters association

Wycombe Wanderers are proud to mark Level Playing Field’s Weeks of Action by pledging a commitment to launching a disabled supporters association, in partnership with Wycombe Wanderers Trust.

Level Playing Field are a sports charity that act as a campaigning and advisory organisation for disabled sports fans, and celebrates its Weeks of Action on an annual basis, showcasing the good work being done by clubs and organisations to improve accessibility and inclusion across all sports.

Headed up by the club’s Safety Officer Steve Copp and Trust director Peter Lerner, the association will seek to improve the services and facilities provided by the club for disabled supporters through regular consultation with its committee members, which will include fans with disabilities and/or knowledge and experience in this field.

Wanderers will be actively showing its support for the Level Playing Field Weeks of Action at this weekend’s fixture against Preston North End at Adams Park.

Peter Lerner said: “We are really pleased to launch this collaborative effort towards better engaging with our disabled supporters, to improve the accessibility and overall experience around Adams Park, taking on board guidance from Level Playing Field and members of this newly-formed association.

“Steve’s expertise from his previous role at Luton Town, together with the contributions of volunteers from the Trust, will help us develop an important association that we believe will greatly benefit home and away supporters with disabilities.”

If you are interested in joining the association and submitting your views on a number of topics in this field, please send an email to [email protected]
